What are crystal palm stones used for?

Updated: May 18, 2022

Palm stones (aka touch stones) are flat crystals that have been shaped into a round or oval shape. The size and shape of a palm stone is designed to, you guessed it, fit in the palm of your hand!

Palm stones are bigger in size than tumbled stones so have a comforting weight to them and a greater store of energy. They have a range of benefits for your crystal healing practice and you may choose palm stones over tumbled stones or points at certain times.

How to use palm stones

Meditation

Palm stones are a great focus tool for meditation. Some are shaped with an indent in one side, making the perfect spot to rest your thumb. You can use a single palm stone or hold one in each hand. The weight of the stone in your palm helps create an anchor point for your focus and, depending on the type of crystal you choose, it can help deepen your experience.

We recommend labradorite, lepidolite or amethyst palm stones for your meditation practice.

Intentions

Palm stones are excellent for intention and manifestation work. By matching the type of crystal to your intention, you can give your manifestation ritual an energy boost.

To use your palm stone for manifestation work, keep it somewhere handy like your pocket, desk, or handbag. Each time you see it, hold it in your hand for a few moments and focus on your intention.

Try a citrine palm stone to attract material abundance or rose quartz for love!

Protection

You can carry a palm stone with you for protection, either in your bag or pocket. Physically touching it can bring about a calming, grounding effect, and the energy of the crystal offers protection from negative energy in your environment or of other people.

We love amazonite and smoky quartz palm stones for their protective and grounding effects.

Body layouts

Palm stones are the perfect shape for placing on the body for crystal healing. The flat shape means they lie against the body without rolling off (we’re looking at you, tumbled stones!) and their bigger size means they offer a comforting weight against the skin.

If you’re giving crystal healing to another person, try giving them a palm stone to hold in each hand during the session.

The type of palm stone you choose for your crystal healing body layout will depend on the purpose of the healing, but you may want to try rhodonite for healing the heart or orthoceras for spinal alignment.

Studying and focus

The shape of palm stones, especially the ones with a thumb groove, are an excellent way to improve focus when you’re studying. Rubbing your thumb over it while studying can help keep the mind focussed and the type of crystal you choose may help with concentration.

Try sodalite to improve clarity and communication or labradorite for wisdom and creativity.

Here at Evolve Crystals, we love palm stones so much, we call them super stones! Not only do our super stones look gorgeous, they have a higher energy than regular tumbled stones and many more benefits.
